Wood Soccer Ball Soft Maple and Roasted Walnut, High Variability, Semi-Gloss Varnish Finish

Beautiful wood soccer ball made from Soft Maple and Roasted Walnut .

A unique gift or trophy that draws peoples attention, whether hard core soccer fans or just fans of beautiful artistic items. Handcrafted by me in my shop from Soft Maple and Burnt Walnut (each ball contains 32 individual pieces (20 hexagons, 12 pentagons). After gluing and shaping on the lathe, this ball is finished with a semi-gloss varnish finish.

What is Roasted Walnut? The lumber is heat-treated in a chemical-free process that uses heat and pressure that makes it weather-resistant and oxidizes the natural color to dark brown.

For this ball I gathered all of the maple I had set aside having 'character', and put it in one ball. I think it makes the ball look very interesting!
